Celebrities' Lethal Weapons

Access Hollywood's Billy Bush was with
supporting actress nominee, Queen Latifah, and come Oscar night she'll be just one of the stars escorted by security. Hollywood now more then ever is on high alert. Access  talked to those who the stars turn to to stay safe...

At the first sign of trouble, they whisk their stars to safety. Rushed by unruly paparazzi, they defuse danger in a heartbeat. From Madonna being mobbed to Britney's recent order of protection against one of her own fans to Cher's close call with a stalker celebrities new favorite accessories are living, lethal weapons.

"I was kind of in shock, and I got in my car and he followed me to my house and he knew everything," said Cher about her run-in with a crazed fan.

So who are these men that are protecting Hollywood's A-list? For Britney it's "Big Rob" -- 300-pound bodyguard who follows the star like a shadow from the salon to the red carpet. For Madonna size doesn't matter, her constant companion is average build but highly trained.

With Gwyneth Paltrow, it's strength in numbers. Her latest entourage includes a 10-person security detail on the New Zealand set of her new movie. In the past she too was stalked by a crazed fan.

Aaron Cohen of Israeli Military Specialists is a bodyguard to some of Hollywood's biggest stars and he explains the need for the ramped up security. "Celebrities are stalked, harassed and abused on a pretty regular basis more than people realize."

And Aaron will go to extremes to protect his clients from fans who take their obsession too far. "If the situation arose and we were forced to take a bullet for a celebrity client we'd do it."

So just how much are celebrities willing to pay for security? Aaron, who has also been previously hired to protect Jackie Chan, doesn't come cheap. Stars pay up to $5,000 for a consulting fee and up to $85,000 for 24-hour protection.
