ACTIVE
SHOOTER
COURSE
Unlike like most typical high-risk Police operations
where SWAT units may be effective, an active shooter
does not allow for the appropriate amount of time to
prepare a response; which may include setting up
perimeters, negotiating and assault planning.
Our active shooter training is specific for built-up
areas-which will involve a combination of highly
accurate situational awareness, and fast-moving,
quick-reaction highly selective intervention at
relatively short distances through varying degrees of
lethal threats.
In this course we focus on the
tactical capability of
limited responders.
Preplanned team
coordinated response will not work.
Individual responders must able to subdue all
threats on their own or in very small groups.
We start by focusing on
individual response capabilities and then
continue by focusing on small unit tactics.
This training block is specifically designed to reduce
auditory and visual shutdown (tunnel vision) while
allowing graduates to increase their abilities to reduce
risk in an active shooter scenario by understanding and
preconditioning themselves to the psychological "switch"
that is made for these types of responses.
